This Monday, September 13, 2021, the Geoffroy Guichard stadium is celebrating its 90th anniversary. The opportunity, throughout the week, to celebrate the Cauldron.
From this September 13 until the reception of the Girondins de Bordeaux (6th day of Ligue 1), several events will mark the 90th anniversary of the Geoffroy-Guichard stadium.
On Monday, in the presence of the Greens who have written the most beautiful pages of its history, AS Saint-Étienne will officially inaugurate its training and training center “Center sportif Robert Herbin”. On this occasion, a fresco paying tribute to the former player and legendary coach of ASSE, disappeared in April 2020, will be unveiled. The day will continue in the heart of the stadium inaugurated on September 13, 1931 which will be the scene of the official photos of the workforce of Claude Puel and Jérôme Bonnet. In addition, it is this Monday that the first stone will be laid for the future Brasserie at the Geoffroy Guichard stadium (above the Musée des Verts).
Throughout this week of celebrations, a new film on the construction of the stadium produced by the Guichard family, archive photos and articles retracing the history of this unique venue will be published on the club’s various platforms.
Finally, Saturday September 18, after the Saint-Etienne / Bordeaux match, around 11 p.m., a firework will be fired from within the Cauldron itself.
