ASSE: William Saliba would prefer to stay in England!
The return of William saliba at ASSE this winter is far from certain. Arsenal are keen on loaning him to a club in January to give him more playing time, but the decision to return to Ligue 1 has yet to be confirmed. On Monday, Last Word on London Sports said Arsenal management wants the full-backAS Saint-Etienne remains in England. The London newspaper even mentioned the trail leading to Brentford FC, currently 6th in the Championship.
Obviously, this proposal should have the consent of the concerned. Speaking of William Saliba’s position, David Ornstein confirms “several options in France”. In addition to ASSE, OGC Nice also wishes to be lent the services of the nugget from the Saint-Etienne academy, to fill the absence of Dante. Beyond the multiple choices mentioned by the journalist of The Athletic, the latter understands that the 19-year-old prefers to stay across the Channel. The idea for William Saliba is to get a better feel for English football, in order to harden it up to come back to Arsenal and win it.

Transferred to the Gunners by ASSE in July 2019, the Bondy native joined the London club in the summer of 2020, after a season on loan with the Greens. But since joining Arsenal, he hasn’t played a single game for the professional team. Mikel Arteta is not counting on him and ditched him to the reserve team. William Saliba has played 7 matches in this category, 5 in the league and 2 in the EFL Trophy. Under contract with Arsenal until June 2024, the defender transferred by ASSE to € 30m is now worth € 22m on the market according to Transfermakt.
