Saint-Etienne would look towards Turkey to strengthen its defense.
Edgar Ié will he return to Ligue 1 ? The Turkish press speculates on this subject, and the newspaper Asist Analiz in particular, which evokes an offer made by AS Saint-Etienne, at Turkish club Trabzonspor, for the 26-year-old defender. Edgar Ié left France and his championship in 2019, after two years spent in Lille, less his six-month freelance on loan at Nantes. This season is only his first in the garnet and blue jersey, as he spent the last on loan at PSV.

According to Asist Analiz, the Greens’ management made an offer to the million euros, to recruit the player. It would have been refused. Edgar Ié, has had two paid transfers in his career: from Sporting to the Barça reserve (€ 1.75 million, in 2012) and more recently from Belenenses SAD to Lille, for 3.5 million, in 2017. Today , according to Transfermarkt, he is valued at 2.1 million euros. He has played 12 matches since the start of this year.
A four-year contract awaits him at the Greens
Edgar Ié is under contract until 2022 with Trabzonspor. He could earn two more years by joining ASSE, as a four-year lease would await him. He would also expect a salary of close to 120,000 euros gross per month, less bonuses, at the Forez club. Earlier this December, there was talk of the visit of ASSE scouts to observe Trabzonspor in a league match against Sivasspor.
