AS Saint-Etienne : Greens dominate Saint-Priest – ASSE-Newsfeed | ASSE Live News

The U17’s first success didn’t take long to emerge. This Sunday, at the Robert-Herbin Sports Center, the first period turned out to be duels, although ASSE took a little time to find its rhythm. It took about ten minutes before we saw the first offensive breakthroughs initiated by Patrick Moreau’s players. The opener came before the half hour mark. From an excellent cross, Antoine Gauthier found Darling Bladi who lobbed the opposing goalkeeper in first intention (ASSE 1-0 AS Saint-Priest, 25th). The break was not long in coming as it was immediate. Forgotten by the defense, Louis Pama Djobo just had to head Jebryl Sahraoui’s cross (ASSE 2-0 AS Saint-Priest, 27th). Muzzled since the start of the game, the Saint-Priest attackers had a triple opportunity to come back to score late in the first period, without success.

Upon returning from the locker room, the Greens were put under pressure and encountered difficulties in putting their foot on the ball. We had to wait for the hour mark to see them regain momentum by giving themselves the clearest chances. On a ball badly repelled by the goalkeeper Saint-Priest, Darling Bladi offered himself a brace and confirmed the success of Saint-Etienne with a strike into an empty goal (ASSE 3-0 AS Saint-Priest, 81st).

On aurait pu mieux utiliser le ballon mais on a fait preuve d'abnégation.

We opened the mark despite the few opportunities that Saint-Priest had in the first period, a explained coach Patrick Moreau. We could have used the ball better, but we were very selfless. We stayed calm. We have to make progress to be more comfortable and create opportunities. We know what we need to work on and we will apply ourselves to doing it.
