For a few hours, Kurt Zouma (West Ham) has not been talked about for his performances on the pitch.
The former Saint-Étienne defender is making headlines in English tabloids after the Sun released a video of the defender hitting his cat. In this rather shocking video, the French international kicks the animal, throws an object at it and then slaps it.
The Hammers reacted in a statement: “West Ham United unreservedly condemns the actions of our player, Kurt Zouma, in the video that has been circulated. We have spoken to Kurt and will handle the matter internally, but would like to make it clear that we do not condone animal cruelty in any way.”
Warning, the video below contains passages that may shock.
“This behavior was an isolated incident”
“I also want to say how sorry I am to everyone who was upset by the video. I want to assure everyone that our two cats are perfectly fine and healthy. They are loved and cherished by our entire family, and this behavior was an isolated incident that will not happen again,” said Kurt Zouma.
