Loïc Perrin reacts to ASSE’s winter recruitment

Appointed after Claude Puel after AS Saint-Étienne’s failed start to the season, Pascal Dupraz was calling for reinforcements this winter. The new ASSE coach has registered at least seven reinforcements to fulfill his mission in Forez. The Haute-Savoie technician must avoid relegation of the Greens to Ligue 2. This is why the new Greens coach was pushing for the signing of recruits during the winter transfer window. Returning to the club as sports coordinator, Loïc Perrin took stock of this last transfer window. The former Saint-Etienne captain is delighted with what has been accomplished.

“We are very happy with the transfer window achieved. We managed to bring in seven players. Three players left us. It was a hectic transfer window but we are happy with what we have achieved, ”rejoiced the Saint-Etienne leader at the microphone of RMC Sports.

The Greens well armed for maintenance?

ASSE bottom of the championship

In his exit, Loïc Perrin recalled some of the priorities of AS Saint-Étienne this winter. The Loire club especially needed reinforcements in defense and attack. “The priority was to recruit a striker, an eccentric midfielder and a central defender. We did a lot more than we had to because we had the opportunity to do it […] At no time did we say we were going to take a midfielder. Players should not be crowded. There is a locker room balance to be respected. It seemed to us that it was not the priority, ”said Loïc Perrin.

He now hopes that this recruitment bears fruit. “We will be judged on the results and in the weeks to come,” he said. The Loire club is in last place in the championship and has just been eliminated from the Coupe de France by Bergerac, resident of National 2.
