OL Mercato: Sardar Azmoun will not come to Lyon this winter
After failing in his attempt to recruit Sardar Azmoun in the summer, OL have once again suffered a setback on the track leading to the player of the Zenit St. Petersburg. According to information from RMC Sports, the latter does not want to leave the Russian club this winter, five months from the end of his contract. He decided to leave freely at the end of the 2021-2022 season. The management of the Zenith had however received proposals from Olympique Lyonnais, the last of which would be estimated at 6 M€ including bonus. The source also mentions an offer from Burnley, last in the Premier League, for €12 million, but rejected.
The Zénith Saint-Petersburg had prepared for the possible departure of its striker, by recruiting two attackers, Ivan Sergeev (Samara) and Yuri Alberto (at Internacional in Brazil). Finally, the leading club in the Russian championship came up against Sardar Azmoun’s refusal to be transferred during this winter transfer window. Since January, he has been free to sign with the club of his choice. A choice that he will therefore make with complete peace of mind this summer.
A big blow for Peter Bosz
