The AS Saint-Etienne club have been on sale for several months now, but no one is standing out, according to co-chairman Roland Romeyer.
Interviewed by Progress, the Greens leader revealed that the club is not about to be sold to anyone: “The problem is absolutely not how much we’re going to resell our shares. I’m not making a big deal out of it. It’s a matter of succession. What is important is to find someone who can make the club permanent. At the moment, there is nobody. Unfortunately no one. I’ve had meetings with candidates in Saint-Etienne, Paris, Switzerland… But when it’s time to put everything on the table and provide the tangible stuff to KPMG, no one has. Currently no one has filled in all the boxes. “
The Greens are on sale as the club fights for survival in Ligue 1. Pascal Dupraz and his men will try to get the team out of the red zone (20th in L1). This weekend, ASSE will not play in the league, as its league game against Angers has been postponed due to the coronavirus.
