Ten days ago, the Disciplinary Commission of the LFP had a heavy hand following the incidents which caused the delayed kick-off of the match ASSE – SCO Angers (2-2). After serving a total closed-door match against Clermont, the Greens will be deprived of their two Kops in the tribune Jean Snella and Charles Paret for the receptions of PSG on November 28 and Stade Rennais on December 5. A decision to which must be added the closure of the visitor parking lot of the Aube stadium, Sunday in Troyes.
Puel: “It’s not good for us in our economic situation”
At a press conference, Claude Puel admits having had “the balls” to state this decision which penalizes the greatest number for the differences of a minority: “It is really a shame. I hope this will be sorted out because we don’t have time to waste. There’s the suspension aspect and the fines aspect: it’s not good for us in our economic situation, we have to be careful, we can’t afford to have so many fines. We have to fix them. We must all make efforts and move forward together ”. Not losing the North (and the South!) Despite the sling to which he is the subject, the Manager of the Greens understood that this absence would deprive Saint-Etienne of one of his three best attendance of the season with this match in closed session against Paris and its stars.
At the club, after the notification of the sanction, the question arose whether or not to appeal to the dedicated Commission of the LFP. Ultimately, this will not be the case and for at least two reasons: firstly because this decision is non-suspensive and will not allow, in any case, to recover the turns for the poster of the season against Paris. Then because the Federation is known to have a heavier hand than the League on this kind of file. The Loire management therefore did not wish to take the steps further.
The Kops resettled in the side against Rennes
As of last Friday, ASSE also communicated with supporters who had already bought their places for the matches against Paris and Rennes in order to offer them reimbursement and compensation terms following this sanction. On the PSG match, all the supporters of the kops cannot be resettled in the other stands even if the closed visitor parking spaces will serve as a solution. For the reception of Stade Rennais, it will be slightly different, the Chaudron not showing full in its reservations and being able to afford to replace those who wish in the side stands. Still, the Greens, deprived of part of their extraordinary public and the atmosphere they put, will be severely handicapped, this Sunday afternoon (1 p.m.) at the time of the reception of Lionel Messi and his little comrades. A match that should have been a celebration and which finds itself marred by the behavior of a few and the repression of an authority less and less understanding after the escalation of violence in French stadiums at the start of the season …
