Four new candidates have come forward for the buyout of the Saint-Etienne club, according to the team’s information.
After refusing to follow up on the first two takeover projects put forward by Olivier Markarian and Jean-Michel Roussier, this Monday during a hearing organized by KMPG, the bosses of the Saint-Etienne group; Bernard Caiazzo and Roland Romeyer will look into other avenues through the audit firm tasked with finding a new buyer.
They are now four to fight for a resumption of the Forez club. Terrapin Partners, which previously tried to buy ASSE in 2018, is back in the company of a billionaire whose name has not been released. The latter, being one of the greatest fortunes on the planet, should not have too much trouble convincing Bernard Caiazzo and Roland Romeyer.
Having yet to complete this important transaction, the current owners are, however, confident about their appearance in front of the DNCG on Thursday. After forcing the Saint-Etienne technical staff to make no purchases last summer and assured of collecting 28 million euros in debts, the Caiazzo-Romeyer duo will approach their meeting in front of the financial policeman with serenity.
