After the failure of a takeover by the prince of Cambodia, a project would come off. According to information from RMC Sport, the Forez club could be bought by a Swiss company backed by an American investment fund. The regional newspaper Progress understands that this project would be well placed.

If it were to be successful, this file would install the former president of Olympique de Marseille and AS Nancy-Lorraine Jean-Michel Roussier as president and ex-Greens midfielder Mathieu Bodmer to a post of sports director. Passed by ASSE during his playing career during the second half of the 2012-2013 season, the 38-year-old currently serves as a consultant for the French championship broadcaster Prime Video. If no sum has filtered out, it should be remembered that the current presidency led by Roland Romeyer and Bernard Caïazzo has lowered its claims.

On the field, Claude Puel’s players won their first victory of the season on Sunday against Clermont (3-2, 13th day of Ligue 1), in Geoffroy-Guichard. Down 2-0, Wahbi Khazri’s partners turned the tables on goals from Arnaud Nordin, Jean-Philippe Krasso and Saïdou Sow. With nine points, Saint-Etienne climbed back to 19th place, one step ahead of FC Metz.
