A time among Claude Puel’s undesirables, Wahbi Khazri regained his status at AS Saint-Étienne. The versatile forward was already one of the key players in maintaining ASSE last season. An exercise during which had slammed 7 goals in 22 appearances in the league. Remained in Forez, the Tunisian still wears the Greens despite their disappointing start to the season. The number 10 Stéphanois has already achieved 6 goals in 11 Ligue 1 days. While the Loire club, last in the championship, has left to play maintenance, Khazri’s future could be written far from Etrat.
Towards a departure from Khazri de Saint-Étienne?
Despite his prowess in the field, Wahbi Khazri’s contractual situation did not change in theAS Saint-Etienne. His contract with ASSE expires next June and at the moment there is no indication that the former Bordeaux player will be back. Like other executives before him, the Tunisian international could therefore leave the Greens for free at the end of the season. If he continues to string together, he should eventually catch the eye of a club more upscale than Sainté.
