AS Saint-Etienne : ASSE: Ultras threaten Puel, Pierre Ménès outraged | ASSE News

Threatened by AS Saint-Etienne supporters ahead of the Ligue 1 game against Angers on Friday, Claude Puel was supported by several French football followers, including Pierre Ménès.

The Forez club is going through a complicated period. The red lantern of the championship, with four points in ten days, ASSE has still not won a game since the start of the season. Worse yet, Sainté remains on six losses in the last seven games. Only the derby against OL, which ended in a draw (1-1) at the beginning of October, was able to give air to the Greens. But since the heavy setback in Strasbourg last weekend (1-5), the pressure has increased a notch in Saint-Etienne.

Despite the current poor results, the Saint-Etienne management still decided to give Claude Puel one last chance. A choice that the ultras do not understand. Since this Thursday, the different groups of supporters displayed an unequivocal banner at the entrance to the training center: “Puel: we give you 24 hours to resign …”. This threatening message, which therefore calls for the departure of Puel as soon as possible, does not pass to Pierre Ménès. “Far from being a fan of Puel but the threat is unacceptable”, launched the journalist of Pierrot le foot on his account Twitter.

Supported by Pierre Ménès, Puel does not tremble

For his part, Claude Puel refused to give in to panic before the important meeting against the SCO, Friday evening in the Cauldron. “I’m not going to spread out. My action, I have been leading it for two years, and I am on a mission. I want to stay focused on what we have to do from the next game. I think the supporters will be behind their team and that is the most important. We are at home and we must put pressure on our opponent and not create a harmful atmosphere for our team. For me, there is no pressure. Everything is centered on my players. I live it all through my team. The players do not go to fight for their coach but for their club and also because they want to get out of this situation. I’m not used to putting myself forward. I want to give my all with my staff for the team. There is an environment with a lot of fake-news about me but I don’t care about it ”, released the French coach at a press conference, who knows that Bernard Caïazzo and Roland Romeyer will be merciless with him in the event of a poor result against the fifth in L1.
