Zapping Goal! Football club AS Saint-Etienne newspaper: Can we believe in better days?
The decision of the disciplinary committee of the League to ban ASSE supporters from traveling to Metz on Saturday and to close the Geoffroy-Guichard kops for the reception of Clermont caused a lot of talk. Notably because most observers are fed up with collective sanctions when individual recognition is possible.
For Ouest France, lawyer Pierre Barthélémy gave advice to Saint-Etienne leaders to reduce incidents with supporters, even in this very complicated period in terms of sport: “The clubs can act upstream: improve the safety of infrastructures – especially with nets protection, sealing between stands – and strengthening dialogue with supporters. Wherever there is a real referent-supporters, the tension has dropped sharply. After an incident, it is more for the police and the courts to do the work of investigation and sanctions “.
