ASSE in the sights of the LFP
Already struggling during the summer transfer window, AS Saint-Étienne had a disappointing start to the season. With four units on the clock, ASSE is last in Ligue 1 Uber Eats. The men of Claude Puel are still racing after their first victory in the league after 9 days already disputed. The Greens are still on a good performance in the draw in the derby against Olympique Lyonnais (1-1). However, this last outing would not be without consequences for the Forez club. Which would now be in the sights of the Disciplinary Commission of the Professional Football League. This should crack down on Sainté at its meeting scheduled for next week.
Sanctions in sight for Sainté
The League should indeed rule on the pyrotechnic devices used by Saint-Etienne supporters during this 123rd Rhone derby. At the last news, 70 devices were identified during the shock. Similarly, the LFP should also strike following the intrusion of a supporter who came to celebrate the equalization of Wahbi Khazri in the last minutes of added time. Two incidents which should therefore logically lead to sanctions. Already on Wednesday, the Disciplinary Commission looked into the incidents that occurred during the North derby between Lille and Lens. It was also pronounced following the invasion of the pitch during OM’s trip to Angers.
RC Lens were sentenced to two games behind closed doors and one suspended point withdrawal. LOSC and OM are sanctioned with a suspended penalty point and the closure of their visitors’ area, outside, until December 31. As for Angers, the penalty is two games behind closed doors, one of which is suspended and the payment of a fine of 20,000 euros.
