AS Saint-Etienne : “This group is not going to let go” | ASSE News

What do you have pensé of the tactical device aligned face tonight in Bordeaux?

Other than the first quarter of an hour, I found our animation interesting. There were a lot of solutions, of opportunities. This is paradoxical because we take two avoidable goals and have many actions well done but badly finished. I consider that time and time again we have moved this team. We are unhappy about certain situations as well. And then when we had to push, there was this rain which prevented us from playing and slowed down a ball on the line. That’s a shame. I regret the progress of this meeting.

Should the match have been interrupted?

It was very borderline, especially in our area. We were very annoyed and we could have paid a lot of money at times. I don’t know if this meeting should have been stopped. It was up to the referee to judge. But I remember a face-to-face situation with Wahbi Khazri who could not carry out his gesture on this waterlogged lawn. It does not matter (sic) to lose a match under these conditions.

J’ai vu une équipe mobilisée, ce groupe ne va pas lâcher.

How do you judge the situation of your team?

It is a very difficult situation. This start to the championship is not in line with what we can and want to do. Everyone is aware of it, the group is aware of it. I saw a team mobilized. The players are in debt of confidence but this group is not going to give up. The staff too. We have potential, qualities, it is up to us to express them.

What did you think of Ignacio Ramirez’s first tenure?

He did not have an obvious role with an often low opposing defense. He tried to express himself. But it was important by its positioning. He allowed Romain (Hamouma) and Wahbi (Khazri) to be found between the lines. He participated in our balance.

Can you give us any news from Saïdou Sow?

Saïdou was sewn up on a fairly large wound. He couldn’t take it back.
