The supporters of AS Saint-Etienne paid a heartfelt tribute to Clément, this supporter of OM who lost his life in a road accident this week, while returning from a trip to Angers, for his team’s match.

Unity in the face of tragedy. All fan groups forget about their rivalry and unite after the tragedy that claimed the life of one of their own. A 23-year-old who was returning home on the night from Wednesday to Thursday, after the Angers-OM game (0-0), when he was killed in a traffic accident. The OM Fanatics minibus, carrying nine supporters, struck a truck on the A85 motorway. One was killed, the other eight passengers were injured.

A heavy climate around supporters

This weekend, the atmosphere is therefore heavy on the lawns of Ligue 1, as the French championship has experienced a succession of incidents between supporters since the start of the season. This drama, which does not concern the various incidents in question, has come to blacken a very dark picture on the side of the supporters.

In the stands of Geoffroy-Guichard, who receives Nice on Saturday, the Saint-Etienne supporters put the quarrels aside and paid tribute to Clément, supporter of OM. But above all a supporter: “Clément, a new star in Ultras paradise. Rest in peace. Support for the wounded and fanas.”

On Wednesday, at the Raymond-Kopa stadium of the Angers SCO, incidents broke out at the end of the match, when Marseille fans, provoked by the Ultras Angevins, came out of the visitors’ parking lot to do battle. Local OM supporters were later attacked around the stadium, according to reports. The match between Montpellier and Marseille had degenerated in the stands on the first day.
