In the coming years, the stadium will host two major competitions. In September 2023, the Rugby World Cup will return to France and Saint-Etienne with four matches, including clashes between Australia and Fiji and between Argentina and Samoa.
A year later, as part of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, matches in the men’s and women’s football tournament will be relocated to the provinces, some of which will be at the Geoffroy-Guichard stadium, with six other speakers. As part of hosting these major events, new investments will be made at the stadium for giant screens, sound systems and lighting. On September 13, 2031, the stadium will celebrate its centenary by having hosted seven major international competitions, a few concerts and, above all, thousands of ASSE meetings.
