AS Saint-Etienne : ASSE – OL: Lyon supporters banned from derby | ASSE News

There will be no Lyon supporters during the derby between ASSE and OL scheduled for Sunday October 3 at Geoffroy-Guichard.

THE’ASSE and theOL will compete on Sunday October 3 (9 pm), in Geoffroy-Guichard, for the 9th day of Ligue 1. This first derby of the season will be done without the Lyon supporters, who were banned from traveling.

“Major risks of disturbing public order”

The prefecture of the Loire fears major risks of disturbances to public order. The people “availing himself of the quality of supporter of Olympique Lyonnais or behaving as such” will see each other refuse access to the stadium and its surroundings on the day of the derby.

Lyon supporters will not be able to neither travel on the A7 between the municipality of Dargoire and Saint-Étienne.

A decision also motivated by the multiplication of overflows since the start of the season, inside and around Ligue 1 stadiums. Clashes between supporters, throwing projectiles, field invasion, or even fights between supporters and players have been deplored in recent weeks.
