Monaco logically won against Saint-Étienne reduced to ten in the first period. A first win at home and 3 goals scored, a first this season in the league for ASM.
The flops
Boadu: Released on time, Boadu delivered yet another very mixed performance. He was unable to weigh heavily on the defense of Saint-Étienne and no shot for the Monegasque striker.
Defense : Reduced to ten, Saint-Étienne still managed to equalize on a Badiashile error at the start. Other mistakes that could have cost the Monegasque defense dearly and “saves” by the posts on 3 occasions.
Tops
Fofana : Despite the absence of his friend Tchouaméni to form our beautiful duo, Fofana was a real boss in the midfield. He was behind Monaco’s first goal with his pass for Volland and a nice shot from the crossbar as well.
Diop: A good game from the young Monegasque who plays very simple and always forward to try to find the attackers quickly.
Volland: A goal and an assist for the German striker. Volland finally opens his personal counter which should certainly give him confidence for the future.
Chouameni, Golovin and Ben Yedder (entry during the game) also made a very good entry into the game with a double for the Monegasque captain.
