This Sunday in Ligue 1, AS Saint-Etienne logically lost (0-2) against Montpellier. The Greens can’t do it at all.
The seasons go by and look the same for AS Saint-Etienne in Ligue 1. Claude Puel’s men suffered the Montpellier law on Sunday and are further bogged down in the red zone of the championship. The Saint-Etienne coach is less and less unanimous among fans and observers of the club. Some even believe that the former coach of Olympique Lyonnais is no longer at the peak of his career. This is notably the opinion of Nabil Djellit.
“We will see the rest of the season but a 9 is clearly missing in this team”
On his account Twitter, the journalist has indeed given his opinion on Claude Puel. “I have the impression that Puel had his best years at Nice when he questioned himself after his crash at OL… We will see the rest of the season but he is clearly missing a 9 in this team. Are the players having fun? ”, said Nabil Djellit, worried about the rest of the Greens’ season if the club fail to perform better in front of goal. After coming close to relegation last season, AS Saint-Etienne could therefore still give its fans a few cold sweats in the coming months… On the next day of Ligue 1, the club will host Bordeaux, 20th in the league.
