1. Clermont punishes Bordeaux! The Girondins changed ownership this summer, with the takeover by Gerard Lopez, but Bordeaux’s woes are not yet healed. For his first match on the Aquitaine bench, Vladimir Petkovic conceded a home defeat against the promoted Clermont (0-2). A totally logical success for the Auvergne club. Pascal Gastien’s team dominated their first match in the elite and the goalscorer Mohamed Bayo cracked Benot Costil at the end of the match (82nd). The goalkeeper had long pushed back the chance for Bordeaux by making several decisive stops. The Clermontois hit the nail on the head in added time by Jodel Dossou (90th + 3). 2. Bayo will have to be watched. Author of the opener against Bordeaux, Clermont striker Mohamed Bayo will be one of the players to be closely watched this season. 5. Saint-Etienne hooked by Lorient. In a duel between teams due by their 2020-2021 season, Saint-Etienne and Lorient shared the points (1-1) to start this new exercise. 8. Aguerd leads Rennes against Lens … There was no winner (1-1) between these two ambitious clubs for this new Ligue 1 season. The Rennes opened the scoring thanks to rookie Kamaldeen Sulemana (14th), but the Lensois quickly responded thanks to Seko Fofana (19th). Nayef Aguerd could blame himself after the meeting since the Breton defender missed the RCL equalizer by losing the ball in his area under pressure from Simon Banza. An error which undoubtedly scores two points Rennes…
9. The beautiful Sulemana surprise! For his first appearance in L1 in the Stade Rennais jersey, the Ghanaian winger, recruited 15 M € Nordsjaelland, was obvious. Vloce and technical, the Rennes rookie has constantly made differences and turned the heads of the Lensois defenders, the image of Steven Fortes, ballad by Kamaldeen Sulemana on the opening of the scoring: after a 50-meter overlap, he hooks his opponent before beating Jean-Louis Leca with a shot rolled from the right from the left side of the area.
