This Saturday, OM welcomes players from AS Saint-Étienne to the Stade Vélodrome for a match at 9 p.m. Olympique de Marseille will have to refocus on the game after the Nice incidents. In anticipation of this OM – ASSE meeting, a Saint Etienne supporter kindly agreed to answer our questions.

Good morning ! First, can you introduce yourself quickly?

Hello my name is Miguel, I am passionate about football (podcasts, debates) and support the Greens.

How long have you been supporting the Greens and what made you love this club?

For at least 20 years I think, without really knowing the date, but faithful since then. I love the fervor in the Cauldron and the national craze for the Greens.

OM – ASSE’s last meeting at the Stade Vélodrome resulted in a 0-2 victory for ASSE. What memories do you have of this match?

I remember a quickly packed meeting, then the management, and finally the coup de grace by Denis Bouanga. We were walking on water at the time.

In the league last season, you have a very difficult season after finishing 11th in the league. How do you see coming this season?

It’s the season of all dangers: a non-existent recruitment, a small squad and still young. We have recurring deficiencies in the offensive field. Hopes for promising young people (Green, Sow, Gourna, Saban)

Who do you think are the most dangerous / best players in Saint-Etienne?

Whabi Khazri is in great shape right now, he’s our most consistent offensive player at the start of the season. Our young guardian Stephen Green is also in the continuity of its last season. At last, MoukoudiSow is an interesting hinge.

I don’t know if you follow OM matches, but if so, on the Marseille side, which players do you fear the most (to put it another way, who do you think are the best Olympians)?

Konrad de la Fuente is an extremely interesting and promising player. Cengiz Ünder also. The central hinge Luan Peres William saliba has a future. Dimitri Payet is essential.

Your team has changed little since last season. What do you think of the Saint-Etienne transfer window for the moment?

Our limited financial means do not allow us to have clear ambitions. The squad lack depth and experience, plus a long-lacking central forward.

How do you plan this match? Can you give us a little prognosis before this meeting?

I will bet on a draw even if your squad should, at home, be able to obtain the victory.

Thank you very much to Miguel for his availability and his answers to our questions. We wish you all a good game, whether you are at the stadium (luck) or in front of your television. Wishing a victory for our OM!
