Three years ago, Monaco fell in love with the young Willem Geubbels by recruiting him for 20 million euros from Olympique Lyonnais.

Monaco claims 10 million euros for Geubbels
According to information obtained by L’Equipe, Monaco will settle for € 10million for the transfer of Willem Geubbels. And in Ligue 1, we are interested in this raw talent. Lacking offensive players capable of making individual differences, Saint-Etienne turned to AS Monaco to get Geubbels backing. According to the indiscretions of the national daily, the ASSE was however cooled by the financial demands of Monaco in this matter. In addition, and this will no doubt please the supporters of Olympique Lyonnais, Willem Geubbels is said to have quickly told Monaco of his refusal to join ASSE. As an OL-trained player, the 21-year-old forward could not imagine wearing the colors of the Saint-Etienne rival. Since the start of his career, Willem Geubbels has played only 21 professional games, including 17 in Ligue 1 for a total of one small goal.
