It’s a funny step that was taken by the Italian league: from the 2022-23 season, Serie A teams will no longer be allowed to use the color green for their shirts, like the reports the Gazzetta dello Sport.
This for television reasons, because of the lack of contrast between the green and the lawn, which would disrupt the insertion of virtual ads.
The only exception: a club that historically plays in green (like Saint-Etienne in Ligue 1) would have the right to keep its favorite color if it managed to climb into the Italian top flight.
A measure which also made the Greens react, with humor, on their Twitter account.
