For this exceptional event which can mark a career, one would expect to see French football playing the game, it is not. Many clubs prevent their players from responding positively to this selection. To avoid penalizing teams too much, the FFF has even limited the selections to one player per team. But that has not changed anything for clubs like Lyon, Paris, Rennes or Nice and even for teams playing in Ligue 2!
So much so that Sylvain Ripoll must now focus on free players, such as Sofiane Alakouch who could join the final list which must be published today. France has already been granted additional time.
