AS Saint-Etienne : Yann Karamoh, Parma chills AS Saint-Étienne | ASSE News

The ASSE is indeed still on the move for Yann Karamoh, after trying in vain to recruit him to SM Caen. Parma, the latter’s club, relegated to Serie B, however, does not facilitate the task for the Loire team.

ASSE: Double obstacle to Yann Karamoh’s review

Yann Karamoh always likes ASSE. The Stéphanois had approached Stade Malherbe de Caen in order to recruit him in 2017, but the Norman club had finally transferred him to Inter Milan, after a season spent on loan with the Lombard club. Four years later, the right-winger still interests AS Saint-Étienne. His current club, Parma, are relegated to the Italian second division and put him on the market. However, the transfer fee demanded by the Parmesans is greater than the amount the Greens wish to invest to recruit Yann Karamoh.

The site Parmalive confirms ASSE’s interest in the Abidjan (Ivory Coast) native, while pointing out two obstacles on the track leading to him. First, Parma requires at least € 5m before any negotiation. An amount that Stéphanois cannot match given their limited recruitment budget. Second, the source cites the 23-year-old striker’s hefty salary, estimated at € 1.2m per season.

A difficult passage at Inter Milan

Trained at SM Caen (2011-2016), Yann Karamoh played in Ligue 1 for only one season (2016-2017) before joining Inter Milan. First in the form of a loan (2017-2018), then following a final transfer concluded at 6.5 M € in July 2018. But against all expectations, the Franco-Ivorian targeted by ASSE was returned to Ligue 1 and loaned to the Girondins de Bordeaux on August 31, 2018 for the 2018-2019 season. Still not having the confidence of the technical staff of the Nerazzurri, Yann Karamoh left on loan, in Parma (2019-2020), before his final transfer in summer 2020, for € 8 million.
