AS Saint-Etienne : Wahbi Khazri heads to a new destination | ASSE News

At theAS Saint Etienne for almost 3 years, Wahbi Khazri made the rounds among the Greens, still performing in League 1, especially at the end of the season, the management of ASSE would like to get a good ticket from it this summer. The Tunisian striker has shown in recent weeks that he was far from being burnt out, he notably scored 7 times including a hat-trick against the Girondins of Bordeaux, his former club, last April.

Still under contract until 2022 atASSE, the player could be sold during this transfer window in order to free up the payroll with the desire to rebuild a new workforce, hence the extensions ofEtienne Green and of Aimen Moueffek.

Khazri is aware that Greens do not want to keep him an extra year, especially since he has a very high salary. Turkish club Basaksehir has been offered the player but will logically have to make an offer to Saint Etienne, its market value is € 4m according to Transfermarkt. At 30, Khazri could therefore join the SuperLig, on condition however that the two clubs get along and that the Tunisian international finds its account financially.
