Former central defender of AS Saint-Etienne (between 1986 and 1988), Georgi Dimitrov died at the age of 62 following a long illness.
A Bulgarian international, he joined the Greens after a particularly successful 1986 World Cup in Mexico from CSKA Sofia.
Georgi Dimitrov will play two seasons in the Loire before returning to his former club and ending his career in the country.
