Football – ASSE
In a very complicated season, the time has come to take stock of this 2020-2021 exercise for Saint-Etienne players.
Jessy Moulin 8/20
Became number 1 after the departure of Stephane Ruffier, he had a very difficult season for his first as a starter. Like his team, he was feverish. His recent injury allowed Stephen Green to shine and it’s hard to see Jessy Mill get his job back now.
Timothy Kolodziejczak 12/20
Strolling between the axis and the left flank of the defense, he struggled. Regardless, he remains one of the few experienced players behind and she made the difference in the key moments. In the struggle for maintenance, luckily he was there.
Miguel Trauco 10/20
A second season much more complicated than the first for the Peruvian. It took him a little while to secure his place in the 11. And like his team, he’s getting up a bit at the end of the season. A season that will not mark the spirits for Trauco.
Harold Moukoudi 12/20
Surprise striker several times this season, he is capable of the best and the worst. But given the Greens’ season, he’s far from the most ridiculous. We can’t wait to see him next season with a restructuring of the squad and more stability, because he has talent.
Midfielders
Adil Aouchiche 12/20 His arrival in Forez marked the real start of his professional career. After a convincing start, his form followed that of his team. He is a bit out of the water at the end of the season, enough to make a decent copy for the player trained at PSG.
Aimen Moueffek 11.5 / 20
At 20, he has had several appearances this season. Although he was rarely a starter, you quickly noticed that he was a quality player. If it is difficult to stand out in this context, he deserves to have been at the level. Talent to be confirmed.
Mahdi Camara 14/20
Very interesting midfielder. Used 36 times by Claude Puel, at 22 he became one of the executives of 11 des Verts. If he has sometimes struggled against the big guys, he has a very good room for improvement.
Yvan Neyou 13/20
Used a lot in his first season as a professional, he got his head out of the water a bit when theASSE was at the bottom. One of the few to have maintained a decent level all year round. Interesting defensively and offensively, player to watch next year.
Saidou Sow 12.5 / 20
Holder at Lille, it showed beautiful things, but above all solidity. The 18-year-old still lacks vice and experience, but the copies returned are more than encouraging. A player on which Puel should build up next year.
Lucas Douath 13.5 / 20
At 17, he showed very beautiful things in a more than complicated environment. 29 games played, flattering figures that prove the confidence his coach places in him. Very interesting for the future!
Zaydou Youssouf 12/20
Often a substitute, he surely pays for the nonchalance that he sometimes lets show through. However, the talent is there and it has shown great things. His room for improvement is interesting, but he might thrive more at another club.
Forwards
Denis Bouanga 15.5 / 20 The best Saint Etienne this season is Denis Bouanga. Decisive when Holy was on the brink, he even floated in the hard. What taints his season is his missed penalty Lyon…
Romain Hamouma 11.5 / 20
For his last season at Holy–Stephen, he did Hamouma. Alternating between the good and the less good, it always leaves us with an unfinished taste. With 6 goals, he is within his usual standards. Not helped by injuries either …
Kevin Monnet-Paquet 9/20
He is one of the executives of the Claude Puel but he hasn’t looked his best this season at all. He was content with ends of the game and was never decisive. A very frustrating season for the former Lorientais.
Wahbi Khazri 13/20
An almost unexpected burst of pride at the end of the season. Since March, we find the very good Khazri which saves his team. With 7 goals in Ligue 1, his season is correct. And if his start to the championship had been at the same level, we would have had a very good season for the Tunisian.
Ryad Boudebouz 8/20
Plagued by injuries, he never reclaimed his place when he played. Restricted to a substitute role, he didn’t score a single goal. However, Boudebouz is a talented player. But when the body and the head do not follow… A season to forget.
Arnaud Nordin 12/20 He struggled to follow it up, but you can tell he’s talented. A few goals, but too few to claim a higher score. We are asking to see in a season where ASSE is more to its advantage. Potential to be confirmed.
Charles Abi 11/20
The peculiarity of Charles Abi, he’s best when he starts off on the bench. And in his second full season at ASSE, he still fails to establish himself as a clear start. Only 3 goals with the Greens, a very low total which shows the difficulties of the 21-year-old.
