The summary of the match between ASSE and Nîmes
The Greens made the right match: solid, controlled, calm, and efficient. They dominated and deserved this victory. However, this match and its preparation were difficult: Jessy Moulin absent at the last minute, Nordin affected during the warm-up, Bajic also absent. The Greens not varnished once again. But this group stood together and produced a flawless match, or almost, from start to finish.
ASSE has encountered very weak Nîmes, it must be said. Very weak in the game, not in the tackles. It’s a small miracle that the Crocs finish this game at eleven. The referee could have taken out cards earlier in the match and in a color other than yellow … Despite this, despite these sometimes dangerous faults, the Greens have always kept their calm and that made the difference.
Collectively, the Greens were solid and this is what helped bring back the three points from Nîmes. This is what allowed Khazri (well served by Abi, 23 ‘) and Bouanga (66’) to place sublime strikes to give the victory to their team. The victory could have been even more beautiful if the sublime goal (acrobatic recovery) of Romain Hamouma had been awarded. But he was logically refused for offside. It would have been a great story for his 300th in the Green jersey.
The other beautiful story is that of Etienne Green. His first match in Ligue 1 at 19 only because of the absence of Moulin and Bajic. He offered a solid performance, had an interesting kicking game and even saved a penalty (which he himself conceded, 84 ‘). At the end of the match, Claude Puel even mentioned a possible second tenure this Sunday, April 11 at 3 p.m. against Bordeaux.
