PSG – ASSE 3-2, Paris overthrows ASSE

After the shock against Bayern, PSG wanted to continue in Ligue 1 against ASSE and the Parisians were able to overthrow the Stéphanois.

A demonstration in the Champions League against the best team in the world followed by a good performance in Ligue 1 against ASSE? This is what the Ile-de-France supporters dreamed of on the eve of this meeting, disputed at an unusual time for Paris, this Sunday.

But from theory to practice, things got complicated for Kylian Mbappé’s teammates. It was even ASSE who got the first big opportunity of the match in the 18th minute following a block, when Khazri served Hamouma full axis. The latter took advantage of Monnet-Paquet’s call to his left to shoot. Sergio Rico was nevertheless vigilant.

Paris would retort at the half hour of play on free kick. A set piece on which Sarabia saw his attempt with his left foot hitting the post of Green, beaten on the action. Danilo was trying to recover, but his attempt was not within the scope of the Stéphanois goal and went over the goal of the visitors.

Khazri saw his goal on a low shot be refused a few minutes later for an offside position, before Mbappé fed Rafinha, author of the first strike on target from PSG shortly before the break. A shot repulsed elsewhere by Green. The break was reached in the meantime

The second half did not see PSG unlock the Forézien safe and shortly after the hour mark, Verratti, Di Maria and Icardi burst onto the meadow at the request of a Mauricio Pochettino eager to see things evolve for his training.

Kylian Mbappé signaled himself on a free kick with an attempt that flirted with Green’s right post. Opposite, Bouanga played with Kehrer and entered the Parisian area, but procrastinated a little too much and lost the leather.

However, it was the Saint-Etienne player who was going to unblock the situation (78th). A crossed recovery of the law which deceived Rico on a cross of Trauco.

Enough to wake up Paris. PSG equalized in stride. A ball from Herrera was controlled by the outside right of Mbappé who deceived Green with the same foot for the 1-1.

Paris insisted on Green’s cages and equalized on a penalty obtained, then transformed by Mbappé. 2-1, then 2-2. the Foréziens equalizing at the very end of the match by Hamouma. Tough, Paris insisted and won at the very end of the game by Icardi (90 + 5th).
