Last summer, Claude Puel continued with the degreasing operation that began when he arrived on the bench at AS Saint-Étienne. Considered an undesirable in the eyes of the Saint-Etienne coach, Franck Honorat left ASSE during the summer transfer window. The versatile winger was sold for 5 million euros at Stade Brestois. Today in Brest, the former Saint-Etienne is having the best season of his career. With 8 goals and 5 assists, he is the most decisive Brestois this season. “Personally I think I made the right choice. Here I am fulfilled, I am happy. I’m having the best season of my career yet. I score, I do dice passes, I enjoy training, it’s family-friendly, it’s warm. Everything is in place for me to continue to thrive, and to keep up the momentum. A small tackle against Claude Puel and the Greens
In his outing, Franck Honorat reconsidered his difficulties at ASSE. He particularly regrets not having had the chance to evolve into his favorite position under Claude Puel. The SB29 forward is not surprised that the Greens are doomed to play hold. For him, “everything that’s going on internally, these changes” prevent players from thriving. “In Saint-Étienne, I played piston. I couldn’t play piston and show my qualities.
