“This story is a real mess”

Returning to Aviron Bayonnais, the club of his childhood, Stéphane Ruffier turned to a managerial career. Eager to launch a guardian academy, the former ASSE rampart did so in his native Basque country. “We still feel that his break with ASSE is painful. He has an immense desire to pass on to the young goalkeepers of the club. Even if it is not very expansive, it is sincere in its approach ”, explains its president Jean-Pierre Mainard in the columns of the Parisian / Today in France.

If the divorce was done without qualms for Claude Puel (for whom it was time for the abnormal situation to end), other decision-makers in Saint-Etienne did not experience the episode in the same way. Also in everyday life, and on condition of anonymity, a member of ASSE made this confidence: “It took so little from Stéphane for everything to work out. Puel didn’t hate him, contrary to what he put in his head. This story is a real mess ”.
