AS Saint-Etienne : Hamouma, the blow for Puel and AS Saint-Etienne | ASSE News

Left with injury shortly after the start of the second half in the victory of theAS Saint-Etienne facing FC Metz (1-0), Romain Hamouma will be away from the field for several weeks. While a rupture of the cruciate ligaments of the knee was for a moment suspected, the examinations taken on Monday were reassuring.

Indeed, Romain Hamouma would suffer from a lesion in the lower right thigh. An injury that remains serious, since the 33-year-old striker could miss the next 4/5 weeks of competition.

Bad news for Claude Puel, since Hamouma is one of the best players in theASSE since the start of the season. The former SM Caen player should not return to the field before mid-March, and will therefore miss 5 to 6 games, including trips to Reindeer and Lorient and receiving the RC Lens. Not ideal in the race to maintain.
