The Mostafa Mohamed case has put a strain on the nerves of supporters of Galatasaray and ASSE, probably also those of the Saint-Etienne board. The soap opera is about to know its epilogue.
On Thursday evening, Egyptian striker Zamalek posted a photo on his Twitter account. We see him posing, probably with his representatives, many documents on a table with the caption, two Turkish flags. Within a few hours, the transfer of Mostafa Mohamed to Galatasaray should therefore be formalized.
The striker had agreed with ASSE for several days. The Loire club had even blocked more than four million euros to be paid in one go, Claude Puel having made this his priority.
A little appreciated Romeyer’s exit
“It’s complicated,” we were whispered a fortnight ago in the Robert-Herbin sports center in L’Étrat. The vicissitudes were multiple and Roland Romeyer, Thursday, January 14, appeared on Egyptian television, putting pressure on his counterparts.
This exit, also revealing the underside of the negotiations, was not well received in Cairo. Some of the Zamalek leaders held a nagging resentment against the president of the ASSE board, refusing to make the deal.
