AS Saint-Etienne : Lyon crabouille les Verts – Dbrief and NOTES of the players (ASSE 0-5 OL) – Football | ASSE News

In a one-way derby, Olympique Lyonnais pulverized Saint-tienne (0-5), this Sunday, during the 21st day of Ligue 1. A week after their misstep against Metz, the Gones spent their nerves on Greens totally overwhelmed.

Lyon

Marcelo and Kadewere each scored twice.

Olympique Lyonnais has not done in the lace. A week after its surprise defeat against Metz (0-1), the Rhone club martyred Saint-tienne (0-5), this Sunday, during the 21st day of Ligue 1.

Largely above, the Gones pitin the Greens of appalling weakness in a derby without much flavor that quickly turned in their favor. A clear success which allows Lyon to remain two points behind the co-leaders, Paris Saint-Germain and Lille.

Lyon without mercy

Close to being surprised in the first moments on a huge occasion of Moueffek, the Gones quickly took the bull by the horns. After two decisive stops in front of Depay and Kadewere, Moulin could do nothing about the recovery from close range of the Zimbabwean striker following a corner badly repulsed by his defense (0-1, 16th). Completely overwhelmed, the Greens bordered on the correctional on a powerful strike from De Sciglio which smashed the bar.

A monstrous Dubois, constantly moving midfielders, attackers who slipped well, OL were far above and clearly did not drill to fly over the debates. Ideally served by Thiago Mendes, Toko Ekambi was stopped in extremis by Moulin, released his meeting. But a few moments later, Marcelo left him no chance on a perfect header following a surgical free kick from Dubois (0-2, 36th).

The bar for Nordin, the Greens let go

After the break, Claude Puel decided to launch Bouanga and Nordin. Entries that did (a little) good ASSE since the second city touched the bar on his first attempt at a closed angle. But faced with this OL, much too strong tonight, there was absolutely nothing to do. At the hour mark, Dubois, as in the first period, found Marcelo’s head on his free kick for the carbon copy of the second goal (0-3, 59th).

The ordeal of the poor Greens was not yet over. Served by Depay, Kadewere also had his double by sliding a ball in the simplest way in the world at the post of Moulin (0-4, 68th). And since the Gones were not satisfied, the Dutchman, on a new free kick, pushed Bouanga to score against his camp (0-5, 83rd). Without their goalkeeper, decisive in front of Toko Ekambi and Slimani, they would have had to use the other hand to count the goals conceded …

The score of the match: 6/10

A derby? What derby? Largely above, Lyon made only one mouth of Saint-Tienne, which offered a service of a distressing nullity. A demonstration of seriousness, physical power and technical skill from the Gones, who left their rivals no chance. An almost annoying doctor blade …

The goals :

– On the left side, Depay kicks a corner in the box. The ball was not cleared by the Stphanoise defense and it was Kadewere, point blank, who slid it to Moulin’s right (0-1, 16th).

– At 45 meters, on the right, Dubois kicks his free kick at the penalty spot. Marcelo flies away and places an unstoppable head on the left of Moulin (0-2, 36 ‘).

– At 35 meters, this time, again on the right, Dubois kicks his free kick perfectly at the penalty spot. Marcelo, again, places an unstoppable header … on the left of Moulin (0-3, 59th).

– In the axis, Depay slips a perfect pass for Kadewere. The Lyon striker plays with Kolodziejczak to place the ball flush with the post with a precise, gentle strike (0-4, 68th).

– On the left, Depay seeks the head of a partner on his free kick. He finally finds that of Bouanga, who inadvertently deceives Moulin by wanting to break free (0-5, 83rd).

Player NOTES

Maxifoot has awarded a score (out of 10) comments on each player.

Man of the match: Lo Dubois (8.5 / 10)

The right side has been monstrous. Untenable in his hallway, he literally pitted Gabard and Trauco throughout the game. Decisive passer twice on two free kicks for Marcelo, the French international has probably delivered his best match in Lyon. Replace the 89th minute with Melvin Bard (not rated).

ST ETIENNE :

Jessy Moulin (4): the Stphanois goalkeeper concedes five goals, but without his many stops, ASSE could have left with ten pawns in the suitcase. Hard, very hard to take …

Nelson Alpha Sissoko (2): 45 minutes of very low level. The right side has been overtaken on all Lyon offensives. Needless to say that he has not contributed anything offensively. Replace the 46th minute with Arnaud Nordin (4), who had a good first quarter of an hour in the second period, notably touching the bar. But nothing more.

Timothe Kolodziejczak (1): below everything. Despite his experience, the central defender was walked over by Marcelo on his two goals. He is also mystified by Kadewere on the 0-4. Late in his interventions, he experienced a nightmare.

Mahdi Camara (2): an evening in hell. The young Green has been passed on all the Lyon offensives. A terrible evening for him.

Miguel Trauco (2): the Pruvian left lateral was sprayed by Dubois in the first period. With his head in the bucket, he never crossed the midline. Replace the 69th minute with Saidou Sow (not rated).

Aimen Moueffek (3): the Green must certainly blame himself since he wasted a huge opportunity after only a few seconds of play. If he had found the flaw, this derby might have been very different …

Lucas Gourna-Douath (4): one of the only Greens to have tried things in the first period thanks to a good technique. Then he sank, like all his partners …

Yvan Neyou Noupa (2.5): the Cameroonian midfielder is completely sided. He spent his time running behind the Lyonnais, who had no trouble pushing him around the entire match. Replace the 76th minute with Zaydou Youssouf (not rated).

Baptiste Gabard (2): a nightmare. Launched by Claude Puel for this derby, the Stphanois midfielder was clearly not ready. He was taken for a ride by Dubois and did not show the right attitude by playing alone without making the effort. Replace the 46th minute with Denis Bouanga (2), who did nothing when he came into play … leaves to score against his side at the end of the match. A very complicated entry.

Charles Abi (2): surprise from the starting eleven, since he was not scheduled to start the match, the attacker went completely aside. Just like the occasion wasted in the first period after a Hamouma caviar. Replace the 69th minute with Adil Aouchiche (not rated).

Romain Hamouma (3): the attacker passed through Caen at least made the effort. He had a good, almost decisive pass for Abi in the first half. The only class gesture on the side of ASSE this evening.

LYON :

Anthony Lopes (6): the Portuguese goalkeeper had nothing to do this evening. In the second half, he was even saved by his bar on a heavy cross strike from Nordin. An easy derby.

Lo Dubois (8.5): read comment above.

Marcelo (8): Weeks go by and the Brazilian central defender is still impressive. Solid in the duels, he scored two similar goals on two offerings from Dubois. A sacred success and a sacred evening for him.

Jason Denayer (7): the Belgian did not have to sprain this evening. He perfectly mastered the Stphanois attackers who never managed to get around him. A good copy for the central defender.

Mattia De Sciglio (6.5): the Italian side, placed left, was much better than in his last outings. He was offensive, notably touching the bar on a heavy strike in the first half. Overall a good game.

Maxence Caqueret (7.5): holder with the absences of Paqueta and Aouar, the Lyon environment has been very good. Constantly on the move, he slipped between his green counterparts with bewildering ease. His technical ease and his ability to find the right spaces on his daring passes hurt a lot.

Thiago Mendes (7): sober, efficient, clean, precise, the Brazilian midfielder delivered a performance at the height of his season. Another good game for him. Replace the 86th minute with Sinaly Diomand (not rated).

Bruno Guimares (7): a good match for the Brazilian midfielder, who also did not have to force his talent to gain enough advantage over the Greens. Serene in his communications, intelligent in his placement, the South American responded now. Replace the 90th minute with Malo Gusto (not rated).

Tino Kadewere (8): the Zimbabwean striker is in good shape, and he proved it again tonight. Sharp in his calls, the former Le Havre scored a double on goals from a pure center-forward. Two additional achievements that will give him even more confidence. Replace the 85th minute with islam Slimani (not not).

Memphis Depay (7.5): sober, no frills, the Lyon captain was important tonight. Author of many key passes, the Dutchman delivers a great offering on Kadewere’s second goal and finds himself the origin of the fifth goal scored against his camp by Bouanga. Clean and efficient.

Karl Toko Ekambi (6): restless, the Cameroonian striker lacked liveliness and precision in his last gestures. Like his duel lost half an hour of play with the authoritarian exit of Moulin in his feet. He still shines the green goalkeeper on a nice shot late in the game. Less successful than its partners. Replace the 86th minute with Rayan Cherki (not rated).
