For OL, it’s not easy to find THE hit
This is the story of an anthem that is long in coming. And yet, they tried, especially in 2003, with Lyonnais , sung by Stéphane Pétrier, sold over 40,000 copies. Singer and actor who needs no introduction, Caladois Benjamin Biolay, a claimed OL supporter, has taken up the challenge and the challenge launched by the club management seven years ago. To everyone’s surprise, his electro-inspired instrumental song garnered polite respect at best, mockery at worst. More recently, Stéphane Balmino distinguished himself with a short song with a rather slow rhythm, guitar voice, a tribute to the canuts and to the workers’ history of Lyon. An image out of step with the ultra modernity of the time and the globalized dimension of the capital of Gaul.
