Seeking a central defender in the transfer window, Saint-Etienne would have liked to welcome William Saliba in January.
The Saint-Etienne-trained defender finally signed up in Nice in the form of a no-buyout loan. A blow for the Greens, who do not however despair of finding the rare bird in this position by January 31. According to information obtained by Gianluca Di Marzio, the Stéphanois leaders have their eyes riveted on Portugal since Claude Puel would greatly appreciate the profile of Jean-Clair Todibo, on loan from FC Barcelona to Benfica Lisbon. The former defender of Toulouse does not enter at all in the plans of Jorge Jesus, so much so that the Lisbon technician is about to complete the arrival of a central defender in the transfer window in the person of Lucas Vrissimo (Santos) .
Benfica will not therefore retain Jean-Clair Todibo by force in the winter transfer window, which represents a first positive point for Saint-Etienne. The Greens, on the other hand, will have to face some pretty tough competition, including in Ligue 1. After winning the William Saliba case, OGC Nice seems to be in contention again to make Saint-Etienne misery in the transfer window.
