AS Saint-Etienne : Claude Puel announces the return of an undesirable | ASSE News

ASSE has gone down well during the transfer window, but it still hoped for a few departures at the end of the year, in order to reduce its payroll and get rid of some players who have become undesirable in the eyes of coach Claude

Puel, who now relies on youth to build its workforce and wants to give the Greens a new boost.

An unwanted player returns to ASSE

The leaders of ASSE followed most of the departure requests from Claude Puel. The coach of the Greens established, at the start of the transfer window, a list of players who had become unwanted and who absolutely had to find a way out. First, because theAS Saint-Etienne needed to lighten his payroll and replenish his coffers, then because the players in question did not appear in the plans of the Forézien coach, who wishes to bet on the youth to build his team. If Loïs Diony and Yann M’Vila left the club, respectively for Angers SCO and Olympiakos, ASSE has not (yet) succeeded in removing players like Miguel Trauco, Ryad Boudebouz or Stéphane Ruffier. The latter could have continued the adventure in Ligue 1, at Dijon FCO, but refused the Burgundian offer and remains pilloried in Saint-Etienne.

Claude Puel does not seem happy

Ryad Boudebouz, meanwhile, was expected from Doha, where he was in negotiations with the Qatar Sports Club. Despite complicated discussions with the Emirati club, Boudebouz had finally taken the plane to begin negotiations and visit the local facilities. But everything seemed to have fallen apart between Qatar SC and the Algerian attacking midfielder, according to information from insider Mohamed Toubache-Ter. This Friday, during the traditional pre-match press conference, Claude Puel, whose players face FC Metz, away, on behalf of the 8th day of Ligue 1, confirmed the statements of Toubache-Ter. In comments related by Progress, the ASSE technician declared: “I think that the departure of Ryad Boudebouz is not going to happen since he is coming back with us.” As to whether the Algerian will find a place in the workforce of the Greens, or at least an opportunity to regain it, Claude Puel was silent. “I have no other comments to make,” said the coach of AS Saint-Etienne. Not sure that the return of one of the players he had placed on the blacklist will please him, just like its president Roland Romeyer, “very stressed” by the file which has just experienced an end which is not the desired one by ASSE.
