AS Saint-Etienne : justice is behind the exemplary sanctions taken against young people from the club | ASSE News

In addition to the good results of the first team or the Wesley Fofana case, ASSE has had a thorny issue to manage in recent weeks. Three players from the training center were sanctioned for violence as part of hazing against other young players of the club.

While it was expected that justice seizes the file; the leaders of Saint-Etienne did not wait to take exemplary sanctions. Two young people were simply excluded from the training center when another was laid off for two weeks. Le Progrès, this Friday, announces that the Saint-Etienne prosecutor’s office has decided to close this case without follow-up.

No complaints were filed

According to the daily’s website, the deputy prosecutor judged that it was difficult for him to date precisely the facts and therefore to draw a well-founded decision. In addition, “no complaint has been lodged by the civilly responsible in agreement with their children.”

But above all, the prosecutor based his decision on the fact that the Saint-Etienne club had therefore already taken exemplary sanctions upstream. “Considering the disciplinary reaction, appropriate and severe, of the management of the club, the legal response can be declined in this way”, writes Progress.
