AS Saint-Etienne : Foot OM – OM: Behind closed doors against ASSE is better! | ASSE News

From 5,000 spectators, we have grown to 1,000 spectators for Thursday’s match between OM and ASSE. It can still go down to 0.

In different regions, measures have been taken to try to counter the still active Covid-19 epidemic, without going as far as containment. In Marseille, the prefect of the region Christophe Mirmand announced the reduction of the gauge for the number of spectators authorized for the events. This obviously applies to sports and football, especially OM matches. For the visit of Saint-Etienne this Thursday, four days after the Olympians’ exploit on the PSG field, only 1000 spectators are in fact authorized to come and fill the bays of the Vélodrome. For a stadium that has 60,000 seats, it could be incredibly empty.

Too much even in the eyes of the leaders, who according to La Provence, wonder if it is not easier to completely close the stadium. Welcoming only a few hundred people is indeed complicated for the organization, the costs that this implies in operation, but also the choice of the lucky ones elected out of such a tiny amount. Not to mention that seats have already been put on sale, and some tickets will therefore be canceled. A headache which explains why OM could quite simply decide to play this meeting in a total closed door, even if the players obviously hope to have all the same a little support for this meeting between two teams which have everything won this season so far.
