Results of PCR screening tests reveal the presence of a positive case for Covid-19 among the professional workforce of ASSE. A match scheduled for Friday August 7 is canceled.
The Stéphanois football club announced the news this Thursday August 6 at the start of the evening : an ASSE player is infected by the virus Covid-19. “The player concerned was immediately isolated,” the statement read.

The match against Berlin is canceled
On Thursday August 6, the Saint-Étienne Sports Association was forced to cancel the match against Berlin normally scheduled for Friday August 7.
PCR screening tests carried out on Wednesday revealed a positive case for Covid-19 among the professional workforce.
“The sanitary conditions initially defined for the organization of the match between AS Saint-Étienne and Hertha BSC, scheduled for tomorrow Friday at the Geoffroy-Guichard Stadium, no longer allow this meeting to be held,” explains the Saint-Étienne club.
New tests are scheduled for Saturday 8 and Monday 10 August.
