AS Saint-Etienne : Downsizing of the workforce, Puel dissatisfied | ASSE News

Upon arrival at the ASSE, Claude puel has made it clear that there is a need to downsize the squad he finds bloated. But since then, very few players have left. And that pisses the general manager of the Greens.

ASSE: Puel insists on reducing the workforce of the Greens

Claude puel is not satisfied with the transfer window of ASSE, in the direction of departures, and has let it be known on RMC Sport. The Stéphanois coach insists on reducing the workforce, in view of the new project he is trying to put in place. “We must reduce the group, from a sporting point of view, but also from a financial point of view”, he insisted, before indicating that “the club was in a project of short-term results , but he can no longer follow this project financially ”. To be able to recruit very promising new and young players who will embody the future of theAS Saint-Etienne, the club “must reduce its workforce to possibly make some alterations”. This is indeed “the challenge of the offseason” for Claude Puel. But the latter is worried, because he recalls: “the transfer window ends at the beginning of October and it is not easy to manage”.

Very few players left, unwanted people still present

ASSE has managed to separate itself from Franck Honorat transferred to Stade Brestois, Makhtar Gueye to KV Ostende (in Belgium) and Vagner Dias Gonçalves to FC Metz. As for Lamine Ghezali, he joined Sporting Club de Lyon, on loan. Players at the end of their contract, Loïc Perrin, Yohan Cabaye and Léo Lacroix left free. On the other hand, undesirable people are still swelling the ranks of Claude Puel’s team. These include Loïs Diony, Assane Diousse, Miguel Trauco, Nelson Sissoko and Sergi Palencia. It should be remembered that ASSE has so far recruited four players this summer: Jean-Philippe Krasso, Sétigui Karamoko, Yvan Neyou and Adil Aouchiche.
