Claude Puel has been immersed in the microcosm of French football since 1979, the year of his first professional contract with AS Monaco. A player, he was loyal throughout his career to the Rocher club, playing a total of 600 matches (1979-1996). At the end of his Monegasque career, he joined the staff of the first team as a physical trainer, then coach of the reserve team.
