AS Saint-Etienne : Etienne – The scores of the Parisians: sufficient to win without impressing | ASSE News

This Friday, in the final of the Coupe de France 2019-2020, Paris Saint-Germain faced AS Saint-Etienne at Au Stade de France. After a game full of aggressiveness, led by the Stéphanois, and not always very spectacular, PSG won 1-0 and therefore won the trophy. Here are our notes from the Parisians.

Guardian –

Keylor Navas (7.5) – An important save in the 16th minute and another in the 20th minute on a header, he helped PSG to keep calm in more complicated moments, without having very big saves to make.

Defenders –

Thilo Kehrer (not rated, left in the 18th minute due to injury). Colin Dagba (6.5) – Without being impressive and after a few minutes to get into the match well, he still had a pretty good performance knowing how to cut the Stéphane actions in his lane.

Marquinhos (6) – In difficulty in the first period, with several opportunities that come from his side. He was more solid afterwards.

Thiago Silva (7.5) – Without being imperial, he helped Paris to hold in the period of domination of Saint-Etienne in the first period. Not much to fault him, without him being particularly impressive. A very nice intervention at the end of the match.

Mitchel Bakker (7) – Lots of balls collected and a participation in the game which is at times interesting, even if there were a few losses of the ball. Unfortunately, he missed a great opportunity to provide an assist, even though the ball was not easy to play on a volley.

Environments –

Angel Di Maria (6) – The Argentine was able to bring danger to the Saint Etienne goal, but lacked a little precision to be decisive. Not to mention that he could have given Sarabia an assist if the latter had won his duel with the keeper. The Argentine did not count his efforts.

Idrissa Gueye (5) – Although he put in a lot of effort, the Senegalese was not always very convincing, notably with uninspired or poorly executed passes.

Leandro Paredes (6) – Strong in the middle, he again showed his ability to pass superb passes, like the one in the air in the deep for Di Maria’s volley in the 24th minute. He also tried a nice shot from afar in the second half. Replaced in the 74th minute by Marco Verratti.

Neymar (6) – After a few breakthrough attempts at the start of the match, without forgetting to make defensive efforts, he opened the scoring by taking advantage of a shot from Mbappé that was blocked by the Stéphane goalkeeper. He also knew how to create some chances with very good passes. A little irregular in the second half, the Brazilian had some inspiration. But it is still far from its best level.

Forwards –

Mauro Icardi (5) – He wasn’t always weighed enough, but he was able to participate in actions to bring danger in the first half. The same in the second half, with some good deviations without being particularly visible. He was also not helped by the failures of his teammates.

Kylian Mbappé (not rated) – He opened the scoring with good acceleration and a knocked-down shot on Neymar. Then he came out with an injury. Replaced by Pablo Sarabia in the 32nd minute. (5.5) He made an entry full of envy and with some nice offensive streaks, almost decisive. He unfortunately misses his duel in the 72nd minute.
