Iconic AS Saint-Etienne captain Loïc Perrin did not claim fame for his last with the Saint-Etienne jersey.
For his 488th and likely last game with the Greens, the 34-year-old center-back was sent off at the 31e minute of play against Paris Saint-Germain after a tackle on the Parisian star, Kylian Mbappé. Like Zinédine Zidane’s last with Les Bleus in the World Cup final, Loïc Perrin had a dramatic outing. After 17 years of loyal service, the Saint-Etienne defender will not have the right to lift the Coupe de France for his last.
“I will miss the locker room and his life”
Present at a press conference this Thursday, the captain of Sainté spoke of his end of career. “What will I miss?” The locker room and his life. I have been living in it for almost thirty years. The wins, too. I have it in my blood. It will be special to see a match in the stands, in a crazy atmosphere at Geoffroy-Guichard, telling myself that I will no longer be able to be on the field », Loïc Perrin announced.
