ASSE: Qualification history at the expense of Stade Rennais

ASSE qualified heroically by eliminating Stade Rennais (2-1) in the very last moments of the match. It was March 5, 2020 at the Geoffroy-Guichard stadium, in front of more than 30,535 spectators. Led (1-0, 33rd), following a penalty transformed by M’Baye Niang, ASSE had equalized by Timothée Kolodziejczak (1-1, 43rd), before overthrowing the Rennais, after additional time, thanks to a splendid goal of Ryad Boudebouz (2-1, 90th + 4). The green people had then invaded the lawn to celebrate the historic qualification of their team, 38 years after the final of the Coupe de France lost to PSG.
