AS Saint-Etienne will file a complaint following the revelations of Mediapart concerning the finances of the Greens. And the ASSE to cry scandal.
Mediapart set fire to French football by revealing information coming from official documents of the Professional Football League, which were not intended to leave the seraglio of the leaders of the clubs of Ligue 1 and Ligue 2. And on the side of the AS Saint-Etienne, which according to these documents is not in a dazzling financial form, we did not appreciate at all being seen thus pointing fingers. So, like the LFP, the Stéphanois leaders announce that they will file a complaint, because these revelations, disputed by ASSE, would not correspond at all to the reality of the accounting situation of the Greens. In a long press release, the Stéphane leaders wanted to reassure everyone.
” AS Saint-Etienne categorically denies the information published by certain media concerning its financial situation which remains under control despite the crisis, which our accounting experts can demonstrate. It also deplores the erroneous and misleading interpretation of confidential and anonymized documents emanating from the Professional Football League (LFP). This false information and the comments associated with its dissemination seriously harm the club which therefore intends, as the LFP did, to file a complaint to protect its interests. In addition, in this period of unprecedented health and economic crisis, the ASSE can only regret manipulations as irresponsible as inadmissible. Already, the club wishes to reassure its environment (supporters, partners, communities, banks, insurance, other clubs, players, agents …) on the merits of the measures it has taken to ensure its sustainability and enable it to cope with the exceptional situation encountered by all players in professional football.
