AS Saint-Etienne has been in mourning for a few weeks and the announcement of the disappearance of its legendary trainer Robert Herbin, who died on April 21 at the age of 81.

As a result of the coronavirus crisis and the definitive suspension of the 2019-2020 season, the Forézien club must wait to pay tribute to the greatest coach in its history, especially in its precinct of Geoffroy-Guichard. Former player and coach of the Greens, the “Sphinx” had notably led Jean-Michel Larqué’s partners to the final of the European Cup of champion clubs in 1976, lost to Bayern Munich.
In the meantime, the city of Saint-Etienne wanted to salute his memory by installing a large sign on the walls of the town hall.
